Run your pipeline from Slack with Rep, your AI sales assistant

Written by Michael Simmons

Ask your CRM anything. Run your pipeline from Slack.

Clarify's Slack app brings your CRM into the tool where your team already works. Chat with Rep — your AI sales assistant — look up records, manage your pipeline, and stay on top of your day, all without leaving Slack.

Rep in Slack

Everything Rep can do in the Clarify web app, it can do in Slack. DM the Clarify app or @mention it in any channel — same AI assistant, full access to your CRM.

A few things to ask Rep:

  • Answer questions — "What deals are closing this month?" or "When did we last talk to Acme?"

  • Look up and summarize records — Get a quick rundown of any company, person, or deal

  • Manage your pipeline — Update deal stages, amounts, close dates, or any field

  • Run campaigns — Launch outreach, check campaign performance, or add contacts

  • Create and update records — Add new contacts, companies, or deals on the fly

  • Prep for meetings — Get a briefing on attendees, recent activity, and open deals

  • Browse lists — Check your pipeline, review custom lists, or filter by any criteria

  • Add comments — Leave notes on any record directly from Slack

Ask follow-up questions in a thread and Rep picks up where you left off.

App Home

Open the Clarify app's Home tab in Slack for a personalized daily briefing:

  • Your day — Meeting count, overdue tasks, what's up next

  • Meetings — Today's calendar with one-click join buttons

  • Deals closing this month — Pipeline view sorted by amount

  • Tasks — Overdue and due-today

Notifications

slack notification

Stay connected to pipeline activity in real time:

  • Record comments — Notified when someone comments on a record you're subscribed to

  • @mentions — Notified when you're mentioned on any record

  • Record updates — See changes to records you follow

  • Deal owner changes — Notified when ownership is assigned or transferred

You're automatically subscribed to records you modify, comment on, or manually subscribe to.

Tip: React with 👀 on any Clarify notification to subscribe to that record.

Link Previews

unfurl

When someone shares a Clarify link in Slack, a rich preview appears automatically:

  • Deals — Stage, amount, close date

  • People & Companies — Description, job title

  • Meetings — Title, event date

  • All records — Title, type

Install Slack

Each user connects their own Slack account:

  1. In Clarify, go to Settings → Connected accounts

  2. Click Configure on the Slack card

  3. Complete the OAuth flow

Slack settings

Each user needs to configure their own Slack connection.

Plan requirements

The AI agent requires a paid Slack plan. All other features, including Home tab, notifications, link previews, and chatting with Rep via DMs and @mentions in channels, work on any Slack plan.

Troubleshooting

If Slack isn't working as expected, disconnect and reconnect:

  1. Go to Settings → Connected accounts

  2. Disconnect Slack

  3. Reconnect and complete OAuth again

If issues persist, contact [email protected]. Customers with a dedicated support channel should use that channel.

FAQ

Does my whole workspace get connected when one person installs?

No. Each user connects their own Slack account separately under Settings → Connected accounts.

How do I start getting notifications for a record?

You're subscribed automatically when you modify, comment on, or @mention someone on a record. To subscribe to a record someone else is working on, react with 👀 on any Clarify notification in Slack, or open the record in Clarify and subscribe directly.

Will I get notified about records I haven't subscribed to?

Only when you're @mentioned. All other notifications (comments, updates, deal owner changes) require a subscription.

Can I pick which channels Rep posts notifications to?

Rep doesn't proactively post in channels. To tag Rep in a channel, add the Clarify app to that channel — if Rep isn't in the channel, @mentions won't reach it.

Does Rep work in private channels?

Yes. Rep works the same way in private channels as in public ones — just add the Clarify app to the private channel first.

Why isn't Rep responding to my @mention?

First, make sure the Slack integration is enabled in Settings → Connected accounts in your Clarify profile. If Rep still doesn't respond, disconnect and reconnect the integration.

Does Rep work in Slack Connect / shared external channels?

Yes. When you talk to Rep in a Slack Connect channel, it uses your Clarify workspace. When the other party in the channel talks to Rep, it uses their Clarify workspace — Rep doesn't bridge between workspaces.

Does the Slack app work on a free Slack workspace?

Yes. Slack's AI Agent surface (the dedicated assistant pane) requires a paid Slack plan, but DMs, @mentions, App Home, notifications, and link previews work on any Slack plan.

Rep is powered by a large language model. Responses may occasionally be inaccurate or incomplete. Always verify important information before acting on it.
