You can prevent Clarify's bot from automatically joining meetings at different levels depending on your needs.

Disable for your account

To stop the bot from joining any of your meetings:

  1. Go to Settings → Account → Meetings → Recording

  2. Set the recording option to None

This prevents automatic bot recording for all your meetings, though you can still manually start the local recorder or join specific meetings when needed.

Disable at the workspace level

Workspace admins can disable automatic recording for all users:

  1. Go to Workspace Settings → Meetings → Recording

  2. Set the recording option to None

Note that individual users with more permissive account-level settings can still override this workspace default.

Disable for specific meetings

To turn off recording for individual meetings:

  1. Open the meeting in Clarify

  2. Toggle the recording control to disable it before the meeting starts

Switch to local recording

If you want to record without the bot appearing in meetings, you can use the Local Recorder:

  1. Set your recording setting to None (to prevent the bot)

  2. Enable the Local Recorder in Settings → Desktop App (macOS only)

  3. Manually start recording for each meeting using "Start recording" or "Join and record"

⚠️ If multiple users are in a meeting, the bot may still join if another participant has automatic recording enabled, regardless of your personal settings.
