Meeting intelligence

Automatically prepare for meetings, summarize notes, create follow-up tasks and ask questions about your meetings

Written by Michael Simmons

Most of the work around a meeting happens before and after it. Clarify automates both — briefings before each external meeting, summaries and tasks after, and answers any time you need to revisit what was discussed.

Most meeting intelligence features require meetings recorded by Clarify (bot recorder or local recording). All features consume credits unless noted otherwise.

Meeting briefings

Clarify generates a briefing about 72 hours before each external meeting, pulling context from emails, previous meetings, related deals, and internet research.

Where to find briefings

  • Meeting pages

  • Daily briefing email (sent every morning)

Meeting summaries

After a recorded meeting ends, Clarify generates a summary using the transcript and historical context from your workspace. Participants with an email address on your workspace's domain(s) receive the summary, including any tasks created from the meeting. External attendees don't receive it.

Summary templates

Different meeting types — discovery, demo, closing, onboarding, renewal — benefit from different summary formats. Create templates to control how Clarify structures each one.

Create a template:

  1. Go to Settings > Intelligence > Meeting intelligence

  2. Add and customize a summary template

Apply a meeting type:

  1. Open the meeting card on your Home screen, or go to the Details tab of any meeting record

  2. Select the meeting type

ℹ️ Changing a meeting type after a summary has been generated will not regenerate the summary. Bulk or automatic template application is not yet supported.

Multi-language transcription

Clarify can transcribe meetings in languages other than English. How it works depends on your recording method.

Bot recorder

The bot recorder autodetects the language spoken in the meeting — no configuration needed. English transcriptions are also more accurate with this method compared to relying on meeting platform captions.

Multi-language bot transcription is automatically available on the Growth plan — no setup needed. It isn’t available on other plans.

ℹ️ Transcription settings are applied when a meeting is scheduled, not when it takes place. If multi-language transcription is enabled after meetings are already on your calendar, those meetings may still transcribe in English. Contact support to refresh settings for meetings already on your calendar.

Supported languages:

Bulgarian, Catalan, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English (including Australian, British, and American variants), Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Malay, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese

Local (desktop) recorder

The local recorder supports six languages:

  • English

  • Spanish

  • French

  • German

  • Italian

  • Portuguese

This works for both scheduled and ad-hoc recordings. No configuration is required — the language is detected automatically.

Meeting summary language

Meeting summaries typically appear in the same language as the transcript — the language spoken in the meeting. If your meeting was in Spanish, the summary will generally be in Spanish.

Limitations

  • Bot recorder multi-language transcription requires the Growth plan. It’s enabled automatically for Growth workspaces — no setup needed.

  • Local recorder supports six languages (English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese). Other languages are not yet available for local recording.

  • Summary language follows the transcript language (the language spoken in the meeting). There is no option to override the summary language independently.

Chat with meeting

Ask questions about any meeting using Rep, Clarify’s sales assistant. When you’re on a meeting page, Rep has that meeting selected as context.

To use it:

  1. Open a meeting page

  2. Click the Rep island at the bottom of the screen (or press Cmd+J)

  3. Type your question

Rep draws from the meeting summary, Notes, full transcript, and related deal summaries. Use it to review action items, draft follow-up messages, find what someone said about a specific topic, or get a quick recap without reading the full transcript.

You can also pin Rep to the side of the screen for a side-by-side view while reviewing the meeting.

Chat with Meeting is free and does not consume credits. Available on web and desktop.

Chat quality depends on having a transcript. Without one, responses are based on the summary and Notes only.

Send a follow-up email

Draft follow-up emails directly from a meeting page, with meeting context pre-loaded.

To use it:

  1. Open a meeting page

  2. Click Email participants (top right, next to the Share button)

  3. A compose window opens with meeting participants as recipients

  4. Press Cmd+Shift+A or type a prompt (e.g., “Write a follow-up email based on this meeting”)

  5. Review the AI draft — use “Improve with AI” to adjust tone or length

  6. Edit as needed, then send

The draft references actual meeting content — discussion points, next steps, and action items. Recipients are pre-populated from meeting participants (edit via To, Cc, Bcc). Subject line starts blank.

Requires the meeting to have been recorded (the AI needs transcript or summary context). The draft is live in the compose window and cannot be saved or shared for review before sending.

Automatic task creation

Automatic task creation

Clarify creates tasks from action items discussed during recorded meetings. Tasks are linked to the meeting they came from, and meetings show all tasks created from them.

Where to find tasks

  • Home page

  • Tasks page

  • Meeting pages (tasks created from that meeting)

  • Deals (if meeting participants are associated with a deal)

You’ll receive in-app, email, and Slack notifications when a task is assigned to you. Tasks created from meetings are also included in the meeting summary email.

Common issues

Issue

Cause

Fix

No summary after meeting

Meeting wasn’t recorded by Clarify

Enable bot recorder or local recording. Third-party recordings are not supported.

Summary template not applied

Template set after summary was generated

Changing meeting type won’t regenerate an existing summary.

Chat gives vague answers

No transcript available

Chat works best with a full transcript. Without one, it uses summary and notes only.

AI email draft is generic

Meeting lacks sufficient context

Ensure the meeting was recorded and a summary exists before composing.

Tasks not created

Task creation disabled or meeting not recorded

Check Settings > Intelligence — task creation must be set to External or All.

Briefing not received

Meeting is less than 72 hours away

Briefings generate ~72 hours before meetings. Check your internal meeting settings under Settings > Intelligence.

Transcript language switched to English after previously working

Transcription settings are locked in when a meeting is scheduled — enabling multi-language support only applies to meetings added to your calendar after the change
