User roles

The two workspace roles, Admin and Member, what each can do, and how to change someone's role.

Written by Michael Simmons

Users in your Clarify workspace can have one of two roles - Admin and Member. A user's role determines what they can or cannot do in Clarify.

Roles

Admins

Full access to Clarify, including admin-only settings and user management.

  • Invite and remove users

  • Change user roles

  • Access Billing, API keys, and Warehouse settings

  • Add and manage custom MCP integrations

  • All Member permissions

Members

Access to CRM data, meetings, email, lists, and workflows. Members can view workspace settings but cannot change them - workspace settings, billing, API keys, custom MCP integrations, and user management (invite, remove, or change roles) are all Admin-only.

Changing a user's role

  1. Find the user

  2. Select their new role

Only Admins can change roles. Role changes take effect immediately.

Default behavior

  • Existing workspaces: All users were set to Admin when this feature launched. Adjust roles manually from Settings → Workspace → Members.

  • New workspaces: The workspace creator is an Admin. All invited users default to Member.

Limitations

Only two roles are currently available: Admin and Member. Roles govern workspace administration - settings, billing, members and keys. What an individual can see of your CRM data, meetings and email is controlled by sharing rather than by role. See Sharing and permissions for how that works.
