Clarify gives you two ways to put AI to work - Rep and agents - and it isn't always obvious which to reach for. The short version: use Rep when you want something done now; set up an agent when you want something done every time.

Rep is the AI you talk to. Ask it about a deal, have it draft a follow-up, or tell it to update a batch of records, and it answers or acts right there in the conversation. You're in the loop at every step - you ask, Rep responds, you review. Open it on almost any page with the Rep island: press / or Cmd + J (Mac) / Ctrl + J (Windows).

Reach for Rep when: you have a one-off question, you're exploring your pipeline, you want something drafted right now, or you're doing an ad-hoc data task.

An agent runs on its own in the background. You set it up once - a trigger, some instructions, and the tools it's allowed to use - and from then on it works every time its trigger fires, without you asking.

Reach for an agent when: the work is repetitive and happens on a predictable trigger - updating a deal after every call, routing every new lead, posting a pipeline summary every Friday.

You don't have to pick one forever. Rep is how you build and manage agents: describe what you want and Rep creates the agent, debugs it when a run fails, and answers questions about what your agents have been doing. Rep is the front desk; agents are the staff working in the back.
