Kondo

Sync LinkedIn DMs from Kondo to Clarify. Conversations land on the matching contact alongside meetings and emails, and feed AI summaries and Campaigns.

Written by Michael Simmons

Sync LinkedIn DMs from Kondo into Clarify so the context from outbound and prospect conversations lives on the same contact records as your meetings, deals, and emails.

Once connected, Kondo pushes selected LinkedIn conversations to Clarify as a comment on the matching person — and creates a new person record when no match exists. The integration is built into Kondo's settings (no Zapier, no webhooks). Sync manually, by label, or for every conversation.

Requirements

  • A Kondo Business plan

  • A Clarify workspace and an Admin role to authorize the connection

How it works

Kondo holds the connection. From Kondo's integrations panel, you authorize Clarify via OAuth, then choose how messages and contact data flow across.

When a conversation is synced:

  • Kondo looks up the LinkedIn profile URL on existing Clarify person records. If a match is found, the conversation is attached to that contact. If not, Kondo creates a new person.

  • The conversation is written to the contact as a single aggregated comment. Subsequent messages on that conversation update the existing comment.

  • Kondo's URL for the conversation, plus any notes and labels you've added in Kondo, are written to dedicated kondo_* fields on the Clarify contact.

  • When a new LinkedIn message arrives on a previously-synced conversation, the existing comment updates and moves to the top of the activity feed.

Connect Kondo to Clarify

The connection is started in Kondo, not in Clarify.

  1. In Kondo, click the settings gear in the bottom-right

  2. Open Integrations under Tools in the left sidebar

  3. Find the Clarify tile in the integrations grid

  4. Click Connect and complete the authorization flow in the popup

  5. Once connected, the tile shows a green dot and a Configure button. Click Configure to open the sync settings.

Configure the sync

The Configure Clarify screen has two direction tabs at the top:

  • Kondo → Clarify — push Kondo data into your Clarify contacts (the main use case)

  • Clarify → Kondo — bring Clarify field values back into Kondo

Sync settings (Kondo → Clarify)

  • Enable sync to Clarify — master toggle for the integration. Recommended: On.

  • Create contacts if not found — creates a new person in Clarify when there's no LinkedIn match. Recommended: On.

  • Sync messages — allows LinkedIn message bodies to flow into the synced comment. Recommended: On.

  • Sync frequency — when Kondo sends data. Recommended: Manual only when starting.

Sync frequency has three options:

  • Auto-sync labeled — only conversations that have at least one Kondo label

  • All conversations — every conversation flows automatically

  • Manual only — nothing syncs until you trigger it from a conversation

Start with manual. Once you're comfortable with what lands in Clarify, switch to auto-sync labeled or all conversations.

Field mappings

Field to match (locked)

  • Profile URL (required) → Clarify LinkedIn field — this is how Kondo identifies the matching contact

Fields to sync (locked Kondo defaults)

  • Kondo Ref → kondo_profile_urn

  • Kondo URL → kondo_url

  • Notes → kondo_note

  • Labels → kondo_labels

These kondo_* fields are auto-created on your Clarify contacts the first time the integration syncs. A Kondo Comment ID field is also added to track the synced comment.

Configurable mappings

First name, last name, LinkedIn handle, and other contact fields default to unmapped. Point them at any Clarify field if you need to — but most workspaces leave them unmapped. Clarify's enrichment fills name, company, and title automatically once it has the LinkedIn URL.

Clarify → Kondo

Switch to the Clarify → Kondo tab to push Clarify field values back into Kondo. The set of supported field types is more limited than the Kondo → Clarify direction.

Sync a conversation

Manual

  1. Open the conversation in Kondo

  2. Click Sync conversation history at the top right

  3. After the sync completes, refresh the page. An Open in CRM link appears that takes you to the matched contact in Clarify.

Auto-sync labeled

Apply any Kondo label to a conversation. As long as sync frequency is set to Auto-sync labeled, conversations with at least one label push to Clarify automatically without further action.

All conversations

Set sync frequency to All conversations. Every Kondo conversation pushes to Clarify automatically — including new ones as they start.

What lands in Clarify

Synced LinkedIn DMs appear on the matching person record as a single aggregated comment headed LinkedIn conversation with [handle] (Synced by Kondo, read-only). The comment is read-only — it can't be edited or deleted from inside Clarify.

Each message inside the comment is timestamped, in the format [YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM AM/PM] Sender Name: message body. The comment itself is authored by the workspace user who triggered the sync.

When new messages arrive on the conversation, the existing comment is updated in place and moves to the top of the activity feed.

Alongside the comment, the kondo_* fields hold the structured metadata: profile URN, conversation URL, notes, labels, and the Kondo comment ID.

The content is available to Clarify's AI for meeting briefings, deal summaries, and Campaigns — anything that draws on relationship context picks up the LinkedIn history alongside emails and meetings.

Limitations

  • Comment visibility isn't covered by email or meeting permissions. Anyone with access to a contact record can read the synced LinkedIn DMs in comments. Email and meeting access controls don't extend to comments today.

  • Synced comments are read-only. Edits or deletions need to happen in Kondo and re-sync; the comment can't be modified directly in Clarify.
