Managing fields

Add, configure, hide, reorder, and delete custom fields on People, Companies, and Deals.

Written by Michael Simmons

Clarify's standard fields cover common CRM data, but every team tracks different things. Custom fields let you extend People, Companies, and Deals to match your process — lead score, contract tier, renewal date, or any data point your workflow depends on. Field changes are workspace-level — anything you add, hide, or reorder applies to everyone in your workspace.

Create a custom field

  1. Open a People, Companies, or Deals list

  2. Click Fields in the toolbar

  3. Select Create new field at the bottom of the panel

  4. Enter a name and choose a field type

  5. Save

The field is immediately available to add to any list view.

Delete a custom field

Deletion is permanent — the field is removed from all records and views and cannot be recovered.

  2. Hover over the field and click the edit icon

  3. Click the delete icon in the top-right of the editing panel

  4. Confirm: "This can't be undone. This field will be permanently deleted from all views and records."

ℹ️ System fields — close date, stage, email, and other built-in fields — cannot be deleted. No edit or delete icon appears for these.

Limitations

  • Field settings are workspace-level — no per-user configuration

  • Any workspace member can add, edit, and delete custom fields. Admin-only field management is not yet available.

  • Deleted fields and their data cannot be recovered
