Deals track sales opportunities and connect them to the people and companies involved.
Each deal has fields for name, company, amount, stage, and expected close date. They also surface the next open task associated with the opportunity and an AI-generated summary from calls, emails, and meetings.
Creating a deal
Automatic creation
Deal Intelligence identifies opportunities in your emails and call recordings and suggests creating deals automatically.
Manual creation
To create a deal manually, the associated company or person must already exist in Clarify.
Create a deal from any of these entry points:
Click Add Deal on any deal list
Click the + in the top-left navigation
Press Cmd+K and select Add Deal
Deal stages
Clarify includes default stages - Lead, In progress, Decision, Won, Lost, and Open - but you can rename, reorder, and recolor them to match your sales process.
To update a deal's stage, click the Stage field on the deal list or from the deal record's Details panel and select from the dropdown.
To customize your stages:
Go to the deal list
Click Fields
Hover over Stage and click the pencil icon
In the Editing Stage modal, rename or reorder options, change colors, or click + Add option to create new stages
Click Update
Closing deals
Close a deal by setting its stage to whichever stage represents Won or Lost in your process - there's no separate close action.
To configure which stages count as Closed Won and Closed Lost for reporting, go to Settings → Reports → Deal stages and map each one.
Custom fields
Add custom fields to track deal-specific data for your business:
Go to the deal list
Click Fields
Click + Create new field at the bottom of the panel
Custom fields appear in the Details panel on the deal record.
Deal views
View deals in two formats:
List view — deals in a table with sortable columns
Board view — pipeline organized by stage
Both views let you click through to individual deal records.
Deal lists
Create saved lists of deals using filters. Star any list to pin it to your favorites for quick access.
To organize deals into separate pipelines — by region, product line, or any other criteria — apply labels to deals and save a filtered list per label. Each saved list becomes a dedicated pipeline view.
Ask Rep
Ask Rep to filter or surface deals using plain language — for example, "show deals closing this quarter over $50k", "which deals slipped from Q1?", or "open deals with no activity in the last 14 days." Rep can also assemble a one-off list with the fields you ask for.
Open Rep from the sidebar, or press Cmd+K and start typing — Tab opens what you typed in a new Rep chat.
Navigating a deal record
Click any deal to open its record. The main area has three tabs:
Overview — AI-generated deal summary with insights from calls and meetings, open tasks, and a full activity feed
Emails — all emails with people associated with the deal
Meetings — all meetings associated with the deal
Attachments — files attached to the deal, with a count shown on the tab like Emails and Meetings
The Details panel on the right shows all deal fields: stage, amount, close date, owner, company, and any custom fields. The People and Companies panels show everyone associated with the deal.
