Configure how Clarify uses AI to detect deals, summarize activity, and suggest field updates across your workspace.
Navigate to Settings > Workspace > Intelligence to manage these features.
Workspace Description
Clarify uses your workspace description to understand your business — what you sell, how you sell it, and who you sell to. This context powers deal detection, meeting prep, and follow-up quality.
Every workspace should complete a description.
A strong workspace description includes:
Company overview
Vision and values
Core products or services
Target audience
How your product or technology works
Key integrations
Team and culture information
To add or edit your description, go to Settings > Workspace > Intelligence and update the Workspace description field.
Deal Suggestions
Deal suggestions analyze your emails, calendar events, and meetings to detect potential new deals. When Clarify identifies a deal, it appears in your Notifications — accept to create the deal, or decline to dismiss it.
Custom Instructions
Add custom instructions to control what Clarify considers a deal. For example:
Exclude VCs or investors if they aren't potential customers
Exclude vendors or partners
Focus on specific deal types or industries
Limitations
New deals only — Deal suggestions only trigger for companies with no existing deals. Once a company has one or more deals, new suggestions won't fire for that company. Create additional deals manually.
Bidirectional email required — For email-only activity (no meetings), detection requires both inbound and outbound email within a recent window. A single inbound email won't trigger a suggestion.
Deal Summaries
Deal summaries compile activity from meetings, emails, and comments into a running overview of each deal. Summaries update automatically as new activity comes in.
Custom Instructions
Add instructions in Settings > Workspace > Intelligence to control summary format, tone, and what questions the summary should answer.
Summaries are also manually editable — you can refine any summary directly on the deal.
Limitations
Person on multiple deals — If a person is associated with two or more deals, meetings and emails involving that person won't trigger summary updates on any of those deals. Clarify skips the update to avoid ambiguity. To fix this, remove the person from inactive deals or consolidate to one deal.
Custom instructions require substantial context — Custom formatting only applies when there's enough activity (meetings and emails). Deals with only comments or manual notes receive a basic summary.
Field Updates
Field updates surface suggestions for deal stage, amount, and close date based on email communications, meeting recordings, and deal comments. Clarify never updates these fields automatically — each suggestion requires your review and approval.
Accept or dismiss field update suggestions as they appear.
Meeting Intelligence
Configure briefings, summaries, task creation, and summary templates for recorded meetings.
Briefings — AI-generated prep notes before external meetings, using historical context and internet research.
Summaries and tasks — Meeting summaries and action item tasks are created after recorded meetings.
Task creation — Control which meetings generate tasks: External (meetings with external participants only), All, or None.
Summary templates — Create custom templates per meeting type (e.g., discovery, demo, onboarding). Each template has its own instructions and sections. Assign templates from the Home screen or a meeting's Details tab.
For full details on each feature, see Meeting Intelligence.
Toggles
Each intelligence feature can be enabled or disabled individually under Settings > Workspace > Intelligence. Changes apply to all members of the workspace.
Features you can toggle:
Suggestions — Deals are suggested based on emails, meetings, and other interactions with companies.
Summaries — Deal summaries are automatically kept up to date from emails, meetings, and more.
Field updates — Receive suggested updates for fields automatically based on emails, meetings, and more.
Auto nudge — Tasks are automatically created for emails that need a follow-up, with a generated draft.
Briefings — Briefings are written before external meetings using historical context or internet research.
Summaries and tasks — Meeting summaries are written and tasks are created after meetings that are recorded.
