A recording is an hour long and the part someone needs is ninety seconds of it. A snippet is that ninety seconds: a clip you cut from a meeting recording and share as its own link.
Snippets are separate from the meeting. Sending one does not give anyone access to the meeting record, the full recording, or anything else in your workspace.
Create a snippet
Open the meeting record and play its recording.
Select Create snippet.
Drag the Snippet start and Snippet end handles to the section you want. Drag the middle of the range to move the whole clip without changing its length.
Select Create snippet to confirm.
Clarify confirms with Snippet created and starts rendering the clip.
How long a snippet can run depends on your plan: up to five minutes on any paid plan, and up to 30 seconds on the Free plan. The handles stop at your limit as you drag them, so you cannot set a longer range.
Share a snippet
Select Copy snippet link and paste it wherever you need it.
Anyone with the link can open it. There is no sign-in and no access check. Treat a snippet link the way you would treat a published meeting: it is public to whoever receives it, and it stays public until you delete the snippet.
The page they land on plays the clip and shows the meeting title, its date, and who recorded it. They can download it from the same page.
There is no way to turn a snippet's link off while keeping the snippet. Deleting the snippet is what revokes the link.
While the clip is preparing
Rendering the video takes a short time after you create the snippet. Until it finishes, the link works but shows Preparing in place of the video.
Send the link straight away if you need to. It resolves to the clip once rendering completes.
If a clip does not finish
A snippet whose video render fails shows This clip didn't finish where the video would be.
The snippet is not lost. The transcript is captured separately from the video, so the text of the clip survives a failed render and the link still works. Only the video playback is missing.
Delete the snippet and create it again. Some render failures are one-off, and the second attempt works. If it fails the same way again, something about that recording is preventing the clip from rendering, so get in touch rather than retrying.
Find your snippets
Every snippet stays attached to the meeting you cut it from. Open the meeting record to get back to it.
The Snippets tab on the meeting record collects every snippet from that meeting.
Delete a snippet
Open the snippet and delete it. This removes the clip, its transcript, and its public link at the same time. Anyone holding the link gets Snippet not found.
Anyone who can see the meeting can delete its snippets, not only the person who created them.
Deleting a recording deletes every snippet cut from it, so removing a recording takes its clips with it.
Requirements
The meeting needs a recording. You cannot snippet a meeting Clarify did not record.
Snippets do not cost credits.
