Delegated sending

Let a teammate send emails and campaigns from your connected account. Recipients only ever see you.

Written by Michael Simmons

Delegated sending lets a teammate send emails and campaigns from your connected email account, with your permission. Recipients see your name, address and signature, and replies land in your thread. It's built for an assistant who runs a founder's outreach, or an SDR who sends campaigns for an exec.

Delegated sending is available on Growth and above. On other plans, the account shows an upgrade prompt instead.

Give a teammate access

Only the account's owner can do this, one connected account at a time. Workspace admins can't give access to someone else's account.

  1. Open Connectors from the left sidebar and click your Google or Microsoft tile under Personal.

  2. Under Account settings, turn on Delegated sending access.

  3. Pick the teammates who can send from this account.

You can also ask Rep, for example "let Sam send from my account". Rep asks you to confirm before anything changes.

Send as a teammate

Once a teammate gives you access:

  • Their account appears in the From picker when you write an email, build a campaign or ask Rep to send, grouped under their name.

  • To see every account you can send as, go to Settings → Account → Email and meetings and look under Shared with you → Delegated sending access.

  • Emails you send from their account carry their signature, not yours.

  • Replies stay in the owner's thread.

  • Drafts you write from their account aren't saved to their mailbox's Drafts folder, so finish and send them in Clarify.

Campaigns

Pick your teammate's account as the sender when you build the campaign.

  • You and the account's owner can both build and edit the draft, turn the campaign on or off, change its send windows and stop conditions, and manage recipients.

  • Only the person who created the campaign, the account's owner or a workspace admin can delete it.

  • The campaigns list shows Sent by (whose account it sends from) next to Created by (who built it). You can sort and filter by Sent by.

  • Want the owner to check it first? Use Send test emails and send it to them. They see exactly what recipients get, from their own address with their signature.

What your teammate can see

Sending access isn't inbox access. It lets your teammate send from your account, but it doesn't let them read the rest of your inbox or your calendar.

To let them read more, use Access in Settings → Account → Email and meetings. That's a separate setting that shares your meetings or email for reading.

Remove access

Turn off Delegated sending access, or remove the teammate, in the same place you turned it on.

  • New sends from your account stop right away.

  • Campaigns already running keep sending. Turn them off from the campaign if you want them to stop.

  • A teammate who built one of those campaigns can still turn it off, but can't turn it back on.

Access also ends when you disconnect the account. Disconnecting an account turns off every campaign sending from it. If you reconnect the same mailbox, your teammates keep their access.

FAQ

Will recipients know a teammate sent the email?

No. It goes out from your account, with your name and signature.

Can an admin give access on my behalf?

No. Only the owner of the connected account can give sending access.

Does it give my teammate access to my calendar?

No. Delegated sending covers sending email only.

Can agents send from an account delegated to me?

No. Agents only send from their owner's own accounts.

Can I add my teammate's address as an alias instead?

No. An alias is another address on your own mailbox. To send as a teammate who has their own Clarify account, use delegated sending.

What happens if our plan changes?

On a plan without delegated sending, teammates can't send from your account. Your settings are kept and start working again if you move back to a plan that includes it.
