Text Rep in iMessage

Link your phone number and text Rep about your customers, deals and pipeline, by message, voice memo, photo or attachment.

Written by Michael Simmons

Text Rep from your iPhone to ask about a customer, company, deal or your pipeline, or to send an update while you're out. It answers using what's already in your CRM, without you opening the app. iMessage is one of the Rep channels, along with email and Slack.

Link your phone number

Each person links their own number.

  1. In Clarify, go to Connectors in the left sidebar and open iMessage under Personal.

  2. Click Connect, enter your phone number, and click Send code.

  3. Rep texts you a 6-digit code over iMessage. Enter it in the same window.

  4. When it says Number verified, click Open in Messages and reply to Rep.

No code? Check that the number uses iMessage, then click Resend code. You can also text Rep first: it replies with a link, which you open while signed in to Clarify.

Once linked, your number shows on the iMessage panel with a Connected badge.

What you can do

  • Catch up before a call. "What happened on our last call with Acme?"

  • Ask about your pipeline. Deals, people, companies, meetings and tasks, in plain language.

  • Send an update. Send a text, voice memo, photo or attachment and say what to update. Rep transcribes voice memos and reads photos and files.

Replies come back as short plain text, so tables and formatted content are simplified.

Each conversation with Rep is separate. Rep doesn't carry what you said in one conversation into another, including between iMessage, email, Slack and the Clarify app. It can still look up anything in your CRM you have access to.

Use Rep in a group chat

Add Rep to an iMessage group and mention it with @Clarify or @rep when you want an answer. It reads the group but only replies when mentioned. Anyone in the group who has linked their number can ask, and each request uses that person's own workspace and access.

If you're in more than one workspace

Rep needs to know which workspace to use. Set this up beforehand under Account → Preferences → Default workspace for Rep. If you haven't, Rep replies and asks you to choose. You can also disconnect your number from the workspaces you don't want it to use.

Disconnect your number

Go to Connectors, open iMessage, and click Disconnect next to your number. To use it again, click Connect and verify your number again.

Troubleshooting

"This number isn't linked to Clarify yet"

Open the link in that message while signed in to Clarify, then text again.

"This link has expired"

Text Rep again and it sends a new link.

It asked you to choose a workspace

Set a Default workspace for Rep (see above), or disconnect the number from the workspaces you don't use.
