Most of the work around a meeting happens before and after it. Clarify automates both - briefings before each external meeting, summaries and tasks after, and answers any time you need to revisit what was discussed.
Most meeting intelligence features require meetings recorded by Clarify (bot recorder or local recording). All features consume credits unless noted otherwise.
Meeting prep briefings
Before each external meeting, Clarify generates a prep briefing - pulling context from emails, previous meetings, related deals, and internet research. Prep is written about 72 hours ahead, only for external meetings, and requires Briefings to be On under Settings → Intelligence. It consumes credits.
This is different from the daily briefing email, a morning digest of that day's schedule and tasks. The daily email includes your prep for that day's meetings when it's ready, but it follows its own send rules - see Notifications.
Where to find briefings
Meeting pages, up until the meeting starts
Daily briefing email, which includes your prep for that day's meetings (see Notifications for when it sends)
ℹ️ Briefings are shown before a meeting only. Once the meeting has passed, the meeting page switches to the summary and the briefing is no longer displayed. It isn't deleted - it just isn't shown. To read a past briefing, open that morning's daily briefing email, which still contains it.
Keep briefings after the meeting
Publish to calendar writes the briefing into the calendar event description, where it stays after the meeting has passed. Find it under Settings → Intelligence → Meeting intelligence → Briefings.
It is on by default for new workspaces and for existing free workspaces, and off by default for existing paid workspaces - so check the toggle rather than assuming which way it is set.
Two things to know about it:
It applies to meetings you organize, not every meeting on your calendar.
The event description is visible to everyone on the invite, including external guests. Clarify publishes an external version of the briefing rather than your full internal one.
Turning the setting off stops new briefings being published. It does not remove briefings already written into existing calendar events - edit those events directly to remove the block.
The published block ends with a short "Prepped by Clarify" line linking to our website.
Meeting summaries
After a recorded meeting ends, Clarify generates a summary using the transcript and historical context from your workspace. Participants with an email address on your workspace's domain(s) always receive the summary, including any tasks created from the meeting. External attendees can receive a copy too, if all three of these are true:
External summaries is on under Settings → Intelligence → Meeting intelligence. It is on by default for new workspaces and for existing free workspaces, and off by default for existing paid workspaces.
Someone in your workspace organized the meeting. If you were a guest on someone else's invite, Clarify does not send their attendees a summary, even when your recording produced it.
The external attendee accepted the calendar invite. People who declined, answered Maybe, or never responded do not receive it.

Summary templates
Different meeting types - discovery, demo, closing, onboarding, renewal - benefit from different summary formats. Create templates to control how Clarify structures each one.
Create a template:
Go to Settings → Intelligence → Meeting intelligence
Add and customize a summary template
Apply a meeting type:
Open the meeting card on your Home screen, or go to the Details tab of any meeting record
Select the meeting type
ℹ️ Meeting type is set one meeting at a time. Recurring meetings sync from your calendar as separate records, one per occurrence, so a type applied to one occurrence does not carry across the rest of the series. There is no bulk or automatic way to apply a type to several meetings at once.
If a meeting already has a summary and you change its type to one with a different summary template, Clarify asks whether to regenerate the summary using the new template. Regenerating is optional and the credit cost is shown before you confirm. If both types use the same template - including when neither has a template of its own - the existing summary is left as it is.
Multi-language transcription
Clarify can transcribe meetings in languages other than English. How it works depends on your recording method.
Bot recorder
The bot recorder autodetects the language spoken in the meeting - no configuration needed. English transcriptions are also more accurate with this method compared to relying on meeting platform captions.
Multi-language bot transcription is automatically available on the Growth plan - no setup needed. It isn't available on other plans.
ℹ️ Transcription settings are applied when a meeting is scheduled, not when it takes place. If multi-language transcription is enabled after meetings are already on your calendar, those meetings may still transcribe in English. Contact support to refresh settings for meetings already on your calendar.
Supported languages:
Bulgarian, Catalan, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English (including Australian, British, and American variants), Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Malay, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese
Local (desktop) recorder
The local recorder supports six languages:
English
Spanish
French
German
Italian
Portuguese
This works for both scheduled and ad-hoc recordings. No configuration is required - the language is detected automatically.
Meeting summary language
Meeting summaries typically appear in the same language as the transcript - the language spoken in the meeting. If your meeting was in Spanish, the summary will generally be in Spanish.
Limitations
Bot recorder multi-language transcription requires the Growth plan. It's enabled automatically for Growth workspaces - no setup needed.
Local recorder supports six languages (English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese). Other languages are not yet available for local recording.
Summary language follows the transcript language (the language spoken in the meeting). There is no option to override the summary language independently.
Chat with meeting
Ask questions about any meeting using Rep, Clarify's sales assistant. When you're on a meeting page, Rep has that meeting selected as context.
To use it:
Open a meeting page
Click the Rep island at the bottom of the screen (or press Cmd+J)
Type your question
Rep draws from the meeting summary, Notes, full transcript, and related deal summaries. Use it to review action items, draft follow-up messages, find what someone said about a specific topic, or get a quick recap without reading the full transcript.
Pin Rep to the side of the screen for a side-by-side view while reviewing the meeting.
Chat with Meeting is free and does not consume credits. Available on web and desktop.
Chat quality depends on having a transcript. Without one, responses are based on the summary and Notes only.
Send a follow-up email
Draft follow-up emails directly from a meeting page, with meeting context pre-loaded.
To use it:
Open a meeting page
Click Email participants (top right, next to the Publish button)
A compose window opens with meeting participants as recipients
Press space in the empty body (or click Ask Rep) and type a prompt (e.g., "Write a follow-up email based on this meeting")
Review the AI draft - use "Improve writing" to adjust tone or length
Edit as needed, then send
The draft references actual meeting content - discussion points, next steps, and action items. Recipients are pre-populated from meeting participants (edit via To, Cc, Bcc). Subject line starts blank.
Requires the meeting to have been recorded (the AI needs transcript or summary context). The draft is live in the compose window and cannot be saved or shared for review before sending.
Automatic task creation
Clarify creates tasks from action items discussed during recorded meetings. Tasks are linked to the meeting they came from, and meetings show all tasks created from them.
Where to find tasks
Home page
Tasks page
Meeting pages (tasks created from that meeting)
Deals (if meeting participants are associated with a deal)
You'll receive in-app, email, and Slack notifications when a task is assigned to you. Tasks created from meetings are also included in the meeting summary email.

Common issues
Issue | Cause | Fix |
No summary after meeting | Meeting wasn't recorded by Clarify | Enable bot recorder or local recording. Third-party recordings are not supported. |
Summary template not applied | Template set after summary was generated | Changing the meeting type to one with a different summary template prompts you to regenerate the summary. The credit cost is shown before you confirm, and choosing Keep it leaves the original summary in place. |
Chat gives vague answers | No transcript available | Chat works best with a full transcript. Without one, it uses summary and notes only. |
AI email draft is generic | Meeting lacks sufficient context | Ensure the meeting was recorded and a summary exists before composing. |
Tasks not created | Task creation disabled or meeting not recorded | Check Settings → Intelligence - task creation must be set to External or All. |
No prep briefing on a meeting | Meeting is internal, is still more than ~72 hours away, or Briefings is off | Prep briefings are written ~72 hours before a meeting and only for external meetings. A meeting counts as external when at least one participant is on an email domain outside your Company email domains list (Settings → Email and meetings). If everyone on the invite shares one domain - or that domain is listed as a company domain - the meeting is treated as internal and no prep is generated. Also confirm Briefings is On under Settings → Intelligence. |
Can't find the briefing after the meeting | Briefings are only displayed before a meeting | Once a meeting is past, the meeting page shows the summary instead and the briefing is no longer displayed anywhere in the app. The briefing is not deleted. Open that morning's daily briefing email to read it. To keep future briefings available after the meeting, turn on Publish to calendar under Settings → Intelligence → Meeting intelligence → Briefings. |
Daily briefing email didn't arrive | No qualifying meetings or tasks that day (a different trigger from prep briefings) | The daily email is separate from prep briefings. It sends only on days you have a meeting with at least one other person starting after 7am local time, or a task due that day - otherwise none is sent. It is email-only; confirm the Daily briefing Email toggle is on under Settings → Account → Notifications. See Notifications. |
Transcript language switched to English after previously working | Transcription settings are locked in when a meeting is scheduled - enabling multi-language support only applies to meetings added to your calendar after the change | Contact support to refresh settings for meetings already on your calendar |
