Run automated, multi-step email outreach to a list of prospects - from finding the leads to tracking who replies. This playbook walks the full path and links to the detailed guide for each step.
Outbound in Clarify follows four steps:
Build your target list - find new leads or use records you already have
Connect your email - required before any campaign can send
Create a campaign - a multi-step email sequence that sends on a schedule
Monitor and follow up - track replies, opens, and bounces
You can run every step yourself, or hand the work to Rep and agents. Both paths are covered below.
Step 1 - Build your target list
A campaign sends to a list of contacts, so start by getting the right people into your workspace.
Find new leads with Lead Finder. Search Clarify's database of companies and people, then use the Add to button to import the ones you want into a list. Running a search doesn't add anything to your workspace - the Add to step is what creates the records. Email addresses stay masked until you import a contact. Lead Finder is available on every plan, including Free.
Or use records you already have. Any list of people in your workspace can be a campaign audience - leads you imported earlier, a filtered view, or contacts you added by hand.
List quality drives your results. Campaigns validate every address before sending. Invalid addresses are rejected pre-send, so they never go out and you're never charged for them - but a list full of unreachable contacts still means few emails land. Build lists you can actually reach.
Step 2 - Connect your email
Campaigns send from your own email account, so connect one before you build a campaign. Go to Connectors and connect your email account under Personal. Each user sends from one connected account.
You can create a campaign without a connected account, but you can't enable it until one is connected.
Step 3 - Create a campaign
A campaign is a multi-step email sequence. Each contact receives your emails on the schedule you set, and stops automatically when they reply, click, or bounce.
To build one: go to Campaigns → Add Campaign, choose your audience list, write your first email, add follow-up steps with delays, then click Enable Campaign.
A few things to know before you send:
Credits: 1 credit per message sent. Failed sends aren't charged.
Plan limits: Free allows 1 active campaign and 500 emails/month; Starter allows 5 and 1,000/month; Growth and above are unlimited.
Editing: A campaign can't be edited once it's been enabled. To change it, duplicate the campaign and edit the copy.
Sending safeguards: Clarify sends up to 250 emails per day per account, one at a time, to protect your sender reputation.
The Campaigns guide covers steps, threading, variables, stop conditions, and scheduling in full.
Step 4 - Monitor and follow up
Open a campaign to see send statistics for the whole sequence and each step - sent, open rate, click rate, reply rate, and bounce rate. The Recipients tab shows a per-contact activity feed and lets you pause or resume any individual contact.
Contacts leave the sequence automatically when a stop condition triggers (reply, click, or bounce), so you're not chasing people who've already engaged.
Let Rep and agents run it for you
You don't have to build any of this by hand.
Rep can create, draft, and update campaigns from chat. Ask it to write a sequence, adjust copy, add steps, or report on performance.
Agents automate outbound in the background - drafting follow-up emails after a call, routing new leads to the right owner, or researching a prospect before outreach. An agent can draft emails to your drafts for review, or send them automatically when you configure it to.
One thing to know: agent-drafted emails support text, links, and formatting, but not inline images or attachments. Keep layouts simple, and review agent drafts before they send.
Good to know
A connected email account is required to enable a campaign.
Campaign emails support text, links, and formatting - inline images and file attachments aren't supported.
If your workspace runs out of credits mid-campaign, the campaign pauses and resumes when credits refill or your monthly allowance resets.
Once a contact has received a campaign email, they can't be re-enrolled in it.
